DIABETES
What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is one of the fastest growing disorders in the world and is very connected to diet.  diabetes is a disorder where either the body is not producing insulin or cannot absorb glucose from the blood.  This can be a genetic defect or caused from injury or many other conditions.  Diabetes can vary in intensity from what we call pre-diabetes to insulin dependent diabetes (INDDM).  diabetes is classified into two types: Type I and type II diabetes millitis.

Type I diabetes is when the body is able to produce very little or no insulin on its own.  this is often referred to as juvenile diabetes because it is usually a condition from birth or early childhood.  it could also be caused by injury or as a result of certain illnesses.

Type II or "Sudden Onset" diabetes can be genetic but usually starts after the individual is an adult.  conditions such as obesity, poor eating habits, and poor physical health are also believed to contribute to its onset.

Both types require close monitoring of your diet, exercise, and body weight, especially your percentage of body fat (BFI).

Dietary Considerations:
Diet is extremely important to a diabetic.  he must watch what he eats, when he eats it, and how much he eats.  There are other considerations such as exercise and rest that should be considered and you should consult your doctor about these to de3termine the amount of exercise you are able to do.
Often diabetes is called "Sugar Diabetes" which implies it is related to sugar but as we have found it is not sugar but carbohydrates that need to be considered most.

naturally the type and severity of diabetes a person has will determine how much to avoid carbohydrates and how the nutrients should be made up for.  In the master diet we make special accommodation for diabetics by tracking the Fats, Carbohydrates, and Proteins in every food so you can determine your intake on a daily basis.

Recommended Supplements:
there are several supplements that a diabetic can take that aid in controlling blood sugar levels.  Some of the most common and easily obtained are: Cinnamon, Better Mellon, Chromium Picolinate, American Ginseng, Gymnema, Prickly Pear, Fenugreek, Banaba.

These ingredients should not be used indiscriminately but can be found already formulated in products such as Diabetan.
